Nikon have created the D3200 to be the latest in the range entry level DSLR’s that they offer. Instead of completely replacing its predecessor the Nikon D3200 has been made to sit side by side with the D3100.

There are a lot of new features to get excited about especially Nikon’s famous 3rd gen guide mode. This is basically a tour of the camera for beginner photographers. This way if you are a first time DSLR user then you are going to be able to use the camera within minutes of startup.

This camera is going to come with a massive 24.2 megapixel sensor, and a completely new processor called the EXPEED 2 image processor. This processor is usually reserved for the top of the range cameras that are offered by Nikon such as the Nikon D4.

When you are holding the D3200 for the first time you are going to notice that it is really light in the hands. Especially when you compare it to many of the competitors out there. Even with a zoom lens attached the camera will feel extremely light. Not only that but the camera is quite compact for a DSLR so taking it around with you on your travels won’t be an issue.

Nikon D3200: Controls

The controls are literally the same as the D3100 except now you are going to find that the most commonly used functions such as Line View will have their very own buttons. There is also going to be a button for HD video capture. So you don’t have to struggle through many different menus just to take video.

The new 3 inch LCD screen has seen a significant improvement over its predecessor. It is going to come with a radically improved 921k-dot resolution. I will tell you that it is amazingly bright and crystal clear. In daylight you are not going to have any issues with glare!

The Nikon D3200 will come with the same battery you found in the D3100. This means that you are going to get about 500-550 shots per full charge. From testing this camera out thoroughly I can tell you that Nikon do live up to this promise! We managed to get 557 shots on a fully charged battery.

Nikon D3200: Picture quality

Of course as any DSLR fan will know, the megapixel count doesn’t ensure a greater picture quality. However the larger the pixel count the higher the scope you are going to have for cropping and zooming in on pictures without losing the initial clarity of the picture.

Two things that are included in the D3200 which will work to increasing the picture quality are the EXPEED 3 processor and the 3rd gen guide mode. These two features alongside the 24.2 megapixel camera will mean that you will get great pictures.

The built in guide mode really is a revolutionary piece of wizardry as you are going to have detailed but easy to follow tutorials to capture any sort of picture that you can imagine. There are literally instructions for any situation you may be in, including how to take a great picture of a sunset.

You are also going to be able to choose from a number of different effects including miniature, and monochrome. You are also going to have the option of touching up your photos within your Nikon D3200. So for all minor tweaks you are not going to have to wait until the pictures are uploaded to your laptop.
